Joan Baez and Bob Dylan first met each other in 1961 at Gerde’s Folk City in Greenwich Village. Bob Dylan actually had his eyes on Joan’s sister in the beginning, but as time went by he stopped wearing blinders and fell for Joan. They had a romantic relationship, but also a professional one when they performed together at different stages. They had trouble dealing with both of these relationships though, and had their on and off periods. Maybe they were just better off having a professional relationship? Anyway, they toured together in many years. Joan wrote a couple of songs to Bob; “To Bobby” and “Diamonds & Rust”, but Bob has never told which of his songs that were about Joan.
